How to Add Adsense to WordPress to make more money Guide
In this How to Add Adsense to WordPress to make more money guide we teach you the basics of Adsense and the best way to use it to make extra money off of your blog or website!
Believe it or not you can make a lot of money just by people clicking on an add on your website! It all depends on how popular the subject is that you are writing about (Google tunes the ads to your content). So an ad for an everyday normal article may only pay 8 cents a click BUT AN AD for a popular Subject like "Buying a MIcrowave oven" Might pay $2.00 a click and an ad for auto insurance might pay $20!! It can ad up to an easy $30 – $1000's per month (Yes there really are people that make that month off of people clicking on Google ads on their website!).
What is Adsense and how can it make my site earn more money online?
Adsense is a great system for YOU to make extra money off of a blog or website. Basically you go to Google and sign up. You put the Adsense code on your website and it displays an ad anyplace on your website you want the add to display. Then if someone clicks on the ad YOU get paid by Google!!
More info – The ads are targeted to the keywords on the web page. So if your web page is about how to cook, the ads will be for companies advertising cooking related products or services.
Here is a snapshot of a real Adsense ad from a how to cook site (Howtocookinoven.com). The ad is not live so you can't click on it here:
When a visitor to that site clicks on the "Rack of Lamb" Link they will go to that site and the owner of the How To cook in Oven website gets paid an advertising fee by Google!
So every time you go to a blog and see little type written ads and click on one, that person is making any wheres from a few pennies to even dollars for sending you to the advertisers site.
Why does Google Pay you?
No Google is not giving away free money. The truth is that the Advertiser (in the ad above it was "TotalRecipesSearch.com") pays google even more money then google paid you for getting the targeted traffic
So:
- The advertiser gets the potential buyer to his site,
- The advertiser pays google for sending it a potentially paying customer interested in cooking.
- Google keeps a little and pays you the rest,
and everyone wins!!
How to add Adsense to WordPress to make more money?
Google makes Adsense easy and so does WordPress. Here are a few step by step instructions on how to add Adsense to your blog.
(Note that if you don't use wordpress you just follow the instructions to set up the adsense account and get the code for the ad from google then you paste it onto your website yourself instead of doing it with a plugin on wordpress).
1) The easiest thing to do is start with a WordPress plugin to quickly get you making money with adsense'
If you don't know how to find and install wordpress plugins click on this link to read an article on How To install WordPress Plugins
2) PS: You'll need a Google Adsense account.
There is no getting around it. If you want google to pay you when someone clicks on your ads, then you have to have a google aSense account.
But its easy. Click on this link to create your Google Adsense Account now Google AdSense Account.
Once you have the account Google will give you a lot of choices for what you want your ads to look like (what size, how many advertisements, etc).
Once you have decided google will give you the code for the ad. You will copy it and paste it into one of the 2 Adsense Plugins I have recommended.
3) I recommend the Free Adsense Now Redux Plugin or the Adssense Daemon Plugin. They are both FREE
Just search in the plugins, add new tab for "adsense Now redux!" and click install (or adsense Daemom).
Go to your settings tab, find Adsense Now redux and Click on it.
Click on the Instructions link titled " A few easy steps to setup AdSense Now!"
(Basically you paste your adsense code into a box, save it and you arre done. REALLY!)
Adsense Now Redux Plugin Detailed Description
AdSense Now! Redux Same as AdSense Now! but with Ad Space sharing code removed.
AdSense Now! is the simplest possible way to generate revenue from your blog using Google AdSense. Aiming at simplicity, AdSense Now! does only one thing: it puts your AdSense code in up to three spots in your posts and pages (both existing ones and those yet to be written).
Features
- Enforces the Google policy of not more than three ad blocks per page.
- Simplest possible configuration interface — nothing more than cutting and pasting AdSense code.
- Option to suppress ads on all pages (as opposed to posts), or on the front/home page., category/tag/archive listings.
- Control over the positioning and display of AdSense blocks in each post or page.
- Internationalized with multiple language support.
3) Do not just pick a plugin by its title. Some are pains.
I do not recommend using the WP Simple Adsense Insertion plugin when it comes to the easiest way how to add Adsense to WordPress.
That is because there is to much code insertions for someone new to WordPress. Most new people want to turn it on and go! But I am including it here so you have another option. (But really you can just select any of the adsense plugins and try them).
4) That is why I also use the Adsense Daemon plugin on some of my sites.
It is super easy!
- You install it.
- It will appear in the "Settings" Tab of your wordpress Admin panel.
- Click on "Adsense Daemon" and it will bring up a screen that lets you paste the google adsense code in one or more boxes.
- You get to tell the plugin by clicking on a drop down choice list, where you want each add to appear (At the start, at the end, after the third paragraph, whatever).
- You click "Save" near the bottom and thats it You are done!
OK I hope I didn't make this How to add adsense to wordpress guide to difficult by including the second option.
